Data Protection Privacy Notice


Pet Problems is the trading name of our business, registered in the Republic of Ireland. Business number 335698.

This privacy policy notice describes how your personal information is collected and used when you visit or book services with www.petproblems.ie. If we provide you with a service, we will use your personal information in the ways explained throughout this notice. If you choose not to give us this personal information, it may delay or prevent us from meeting our commitment to you. It may also mean that we cannot provide you with our services. This privacy policy is to let you know how we will look after your personal information. This includes the personal information you give us, what we learn by having you as a client, and the choices you give us about what marketing you want us to send you.

Privacy Promise

Pet Problems is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We take seriously the protection of your privacy and confidentiality and will always treat your information as confidential, even when you are no longer a client.

Data Protection Law

As well as our Privacy Promise, your privacy is protected by law. Under Data Protection Laws we can only process your personal information where we have a proper reason for doing so. To legally collect your data, we must have one or more of the following reasons,

•  in order for us to carry out a service

•  you have given consent to process your personal information

•  in order for us to meet legal obligation

•  where processing the personal data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest

•  it is in our own legitimate interests to do so (except where those interests contradict or harm the interests or rights and freedoms of the individual)

 

What are your data protection rights?

•  You have the right to access. You have the right to request for copies of your personal information. We may charge a small fee for this service.

•  You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.

•  You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

•  You have the right to object to our use of processing your personal data, under certain conditions.

What personal information do we collect?

When you visit www.petproblems.ie, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the site, and information about how you interact with the site. This automatically-collected information is known as ‘Device Information’.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

•  Cookies are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are used for functional purposes to allow us to improve the user experience. We use Google Analytic Cookies to further enhance the user experience.

•  Tags and pixels are electronic files used to record information about how you use the site.

When you make contact with us about a service you’re interested in, we collect certain information from you, including your name, address, email address and phone number. When you book us, we additionally collect transactional information (like payment details to online accounts, and credit card information), and any information we learn about you from agreed communications with us (emails, conversations, etc).
This information is known as ‘Order Information’.

When we talk about ‘Personal Information’ in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about both Device Information and Order Information.

Withdrawing your consent

Once you have given us your consent you can withdraw it at any time, unless there is a legal reason under the Data Protection Laws that allows us to process your information.

Please note that if you do withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide you our services. If this is so, we will tell you. You can withdraw your consent at any time by getting in touch with us at lydia@petproblems.ie.

How we collect your personal information

Most of the data we collect is provided directly by you. We collect and process data when you:

•  book a service with us

•  email, message or write to us

•  talk to us on the phone

•  voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on social media or email

•  use or browse our website through your browsers cookie

How we use your personal information

We use the booking information that we collect on our questionnaire pdf to fulfill any service bookings placed with us. Additionally, we use this booking information to communicate with you, screen our bookings for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising related to our services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Sharing your personal information

We may share your personal information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the site. We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Marketing and Advertising

We would like to send you information about services of ours that we believe may be of interest to you. We may do this by phone, email, or through other digital media where you have given consent to do so. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date. You have the right, at any time, to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted by us, please email lydia@petproblems.ie.
Please note that this does not include communications involving statements, invoices, and important information such as changes to an existing order.

Booking a service

When you make a booking with Pet Problems, we need to know your name, home address, e-mail address and telephone number. We also require payment online through Revolut, PayPal or SumUp (for credit card payments) in advance to an appointment.

We gather this information to allow us to provide you with the required service. The relevant information is then used by us to confirm your appointments and to communicate with you on any matter relating to your booking and the provision of the services requested in general.

How long we store your personal data for

We will keep your personal information for as long as you are a client of Pet Problems. After you stop being a client, we may keep your data for up to 10 years for one of the following reasons:

•  to respond to any questions or complaints

•  to show that we treated you fairly

•  to maintain records according to rules that apply to us

We may keep your data for longer than 10 years if we cannot delete it for legal, regulatory or technical reasons. We may also keep it for research or statistical purposes. If we do, we will make sure that your privacy is protected and only use it for those purposes.
If you are no longer a customer, and the information is no longer needed, you have the right to ask us to delete this information.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. This privacy policy was last updated on the 21st of June, 2022.
